B.C. is committed to enhancing the participation of indigenous learners. There are many resources to support you through the Government of B.C., local communities, high schools and post-secondary institutions.

Many schools provide culturally relevant support including visiting elders, cultural and academic workshops, Indigenous peer mentors, assistance with band funding applications, Indigenous awards, scholarships and bursary information, computer access, Indigenous Gathering Places, Indigenous Gardens, and more. Find funding opportunities that fit your specific situation. A good place to start is talking with members of your community, your local band office, or with the Financial Aid Advisor at the institution you wish to attend. Take time to research and coordinate your funding options, it will make your time as a student less stressful.
